Peace of mind for your horse’s health

We offer a wellness plan to help ensure that your horse is kept up-to-date on the important vaccinations, deworming and dental care issues every year. This plan offers comprehensive coverage for your horse’s health needs and builds upon a strong relationship with our veterinarians, you and your horse.
NEW! This year several of the plans offer a colic surgery coverage (up to $3500) for emergency colic surgery at Elders Equine Veterinary Service, if your horse is enrolled in the plan prior to the colic occurring and provided the first exam and service contract has been signed. Enrollment can occur at any point throughout the year.

How the Additional Colic Surgery Coverage Plan works:
#1 – You sign up your horse for their initial appointment and wellness visit. This appointment will consist of a general physical exam and we will go over any specific concerns you have with your horse. The additional Colic Surgery Coverage will cost $75/year (expires Dec 31 annually). The additional colic surgery coverage is not automatically included in any of the plans and must be added on at the time of plan purchase. Some stipulations such as no previous colic surgery apply.

#2 – You will have an agreement to have Elders Equine provide your horse with at least one physical exam per year, all core vaccinations that are recommended, a fecal egg count and appropriate deworming and routine dental equilibration (floating). Select from our various wellness plan packages to save by bundling services - Basic, Pleasure, Performance or Geriatric (see attached).

#3 – In the event that your horse needs any additional exams throughout the year, you will contact Elders Equine to attend to those concerns or provide us with right of first refusal to provide those services.

#4 – For horses 18 years and older, a complete blood count (CBC), biochemistry and serum amyloid A analysis is also required for enrollment yearly (at owners expense).

#5 – Failure to abide by #1-4 results in ineligibility for the colic surgery coverage and requires re-enrollment with an initial exam to become eligible again.

#6 – All horses enrolled are eligible for free show exclusions/sick notes and a 10% discount on performance oral supplements such as Cosequin ASU or Exceed 6 Way offered through Elders Equine Veterinary Service.
